THE RIGHT STORY
IN THE RIGHT PLACE

LIMINAL PLACEMAKING

Liminal Placemaking is an integrated public art service with extensive experience in developing place-based and socially engaged public art and design projects within Sydney and greater NSW, which enable the stories of places and people to be creatively interpreted and celebrated through unique, engaging and culturally meaningful public artworks.

CONSULTATION - CONVERSATION - CREATION

We recognise the transformative power of public art in creating meaningful connections between people and places. Our expertise lies in facilitating diverse artistic voices and ensuring public art authentically reflects cultural and place-based narratives. Through deep engagement with both Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander and non-Aboriginal artists and communities, we deliver public art projects that are respectful, inclusive, and impactful.

"Grounded with more than two decades of engagement through our network of Aboriginal community representatives across greater Sydney and NSW, we co design and ensure community voice is embedded in all stages of a project, from idea to launch."

We create unique public art projects, grounded in heritage, place, and community — blending creative vision with planning and heritage expertise to deliver meaningful, site-specific outcomes.

Acknowledging the Unfolding Country: A Liminal Ethos

We acknowledge that the lands and waters now called Sydney have always been — and always will be — Ngurra
(Country): a living, breathing entity, ancestrally held in the stewardship of its Aboriginal custodians — those who
walked before us, those who walk with us now, and those yet to come
